Job Discription:

1) Providing high level expertise in developing complex software applications involving new technologies, methods, concepts, or approaches; correcting errors by making appropriate changes and rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results are produced (15% of the time).

2) Writing, updating, and maintaining computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs such as tracking inventory, storing or retrieving data, or controlling other equipment; correcting program errors by revising instructions (10% of the time).

3) Developing diagrammatic plans and design logic required to implement computer programs, modifying programs when required by changes in procedures and reports desired (10% of the time).

4) Performing or directing revision, repairing, or expansion of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements; verifying accuracy and validity of programs by preparing sample test data and test plans (10% of the time).

5) Correcting program errors by revising instructions; modifying programs when required by changes in procedures and reports desired (10% of the time).

6) Performing systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain and control the use of computer systems software (10% of the time).

7) Gathering and engraving documentation of program development and subsequent revisions (10% of the time).

8) Analyzing specifications developed by a Systems Analyst; preparing detailed workflow charts and diagrams that describe input, output, and logical operation, and convert them into a series of instructions coded in a computer language (10% of the time); and

9) Verifying accuracy and validity of programs by preparing sample test data and test plans. Consulting with and assisting computer operators or system analysts to define and resolve problems in running computer programs (15% of the time).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field.
